Who we are
The Clinic Notes is an independent publisher operating the website at theclinicnotes.com. For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, we are the data controller for the personal data described below.
What we collect
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to keep a record of corrections. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit request.
- Server and analytics data. Like most websites, our host records requests made to the site, including IP address, browser type, referring page, and time of request. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are read. This data is used in aggregate.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them for basic site function and, where advertising is served, for the purposes described below. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

How long we keep data
Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your query and any resulting correction. Server logs are retained for a limited period by our hosting provider for security and diagnostics. Analytics data is retained in aggregate.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under California law.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Articles link to government sites, regulators, journals, and news publishers so that readers can check our sources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
Data transfers
Our hosting and service providers may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
