The Clinic Notes is an independent English-language reference on cosmetic and aesthetic medicine in South Korea. Every factual claim here is checked against primary sources — Korean statutes, government notices, regulator databases, and official filings — and every page states when it was verified.
Why this site exists
If you search in English for what a procedure in Seoul costs, whether a clinic is licensed, or what happens if something goes wrong, almost everything you find is published by someone who wants your booking. Clinics, patient-referral agencies, device distributors, and search-optimised lead pages dominate the results. Very few of them disclose that relationship, and fewer still print a number you can check.
That gap is the reason this site exists. We are not competing with clinics on persuasion. We are competing on whether the information survives being checked.
How we verify
Every article follows the same procedure before it is published.
- Each factual claim is confirmed against at least three independent sources.
- Where a primary source exists — a statute, a regulator’s database, an official notice — we use it and cite it directly, rather than citing an article that describes it.
- Every figure carries the date it was verified and the reporting period it covers. Korean regulations and prices change; a number without a date is not information.
- When we cannot verify something, we say so in the article. A section headed “What we could not confirm” is a normal part of our pages, not an admission of failure.
- Claims that originate from a party with a commercial interest — a clinic, a manufacturer, an agency, an industry association — are labelled as such even when we report them.
What we do not do
These are structural commitments, not preferences. They define what this site is.
- We do not refer, introduce, or book patients to any clinic, hospital, or doctor.
- We accept no payment, commission, or benefit from any clinic, hospital, agency, or device manufacturer.
- We publish no “best clinic” rankings, recommended lists, or badges.
- We do not host patient reviews or before-and-after photographs.
- We do not provide medical advice. Nothing here is a substitute for consulting a licensed physician.
Corrections
We would rather be corrected than be wrong. If you find an error, write to us with the specific claim and, where possible, a source. Corrections are made on the page itself with the date and a note describing what changed. We do not silently edit published figures.
